The Notre Dame Fighting Irish women's basketball program has made its first major move in the transfer portal this offseason, securing a significant piece for its frontcourt. Louisville transfer Anaya Hardy, a 6-foot-3 forward, has committed to head coach Niele Ivey's squad, bringing size and efficiency to South Bend.

Hardy, who has two seasons of eligibility remaining, is coming off a sophomore campaign where she emerged as a key contributor for the Cardinals. She started 27 of 35 games, averaging 4.9 points and 4.2 rebounds while leading her team with an impressive .667 field goal percentage. The Detroit native also recorded three double-doubles, showcasing the interior presence Notre Dame craves for its ACC title push.

Coach Niele Ivey was quick to highlight the value Hardy adds, stating, "Anaya's size, rebounding, and defensive ability will elevate our front court. She's coachable with a high motor—the kind of player who grows with us." This addition comes on the same day the Irish saw guard KK Bransford enter the portal, making Hardy's arrival a timely boost.

Her commitment strengthens a roster built around returning superstar guard Hannah Hidalgo and a talented incoming freshman class. Notre Dame is looking to build on a 25-11 season that ended in the Elite Eight against UConn. With Hidalgo leading the charge and new weapons like Hardy fortifying the paint, the Irish are clearly reloading to challenge the nation's elite and make a deeper run in March next season.
