After winning the 2026 ACC Most Improved Player, Notre Dame women’s basketball’s Cassandre Prosper was drafted 19th overall by the Washington Mystics.

Cassandre Prosper's remarkable senior season at Notre Dame has culminated in a WNBA dream realized. The standout wing was selected 19th overall by the Washington Mystics in the 2026 WNBA Draft, capping a year where she was named the ACC's Most Improved Player.

Prosper's path to this moment was a testament to perseverance. A highly-touted five-star recruit from Canada, she arrived in South Bend at just 17. While she found early success on the international stage, including playing for Team Canada in the 2024 Olympics, her first three collegiate seasons were hampered by injuries and limited playing time.

Everything clicked in her senior campaign. Prosper started all 36 games, averaging 13.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game while shooting nearly 50% from the field. Her two-way prowess was instrumental in leading the Fighting Irish to their first Elite Eight appearance since 2019, highlighted by her clutch performance to seal a Sweet Sixteen victory over Vanderbilt.

At 20, she was the youngest prospect in the draft, yet her late-blooming trajectory and 6'3" frame project perfectly for the professional game. In Washington, she'll reunite with former Notre Dame teammate and 2025 WNBA All-Star Sonia Citron, adding her length, athleticism, and newfound confidence to the Mystics' core.
