North Hagerstown dominated the Washington County Public Schools outdoor track & field championships on May 6, sweeping both the boys' and girls' team titles at South Hagerstown. The Hubs' boys extended their remarkable streak to six consecutive county titles, while the girls ended Smithsburg's four-year reign, marking a triumphant day for the program.
The boys' team amassed 175 points to outpace Smithsburg (150.5), Boonsboro (110), South Hagerstown (100.5), Clear Spring (84), Williamsport (37), and Hancock (23). On the girls' side, North Hagerstown posted an impressive 197 points, leaving Smithsburg (123), Boonsboro (113), Clear Spring (112), South Hagerstown (98), and Williamsport (41) in their wake.
Individual highlights included standout performances across multiple events. Torin Sitter of South Hagerstown claimed victories in the 200 meters (22.41), 400 meters (49.24), and anchored the winning 4x100 relay team. Williamsport's Byron Snyder took the 100 meters in 10.91 seconds, while Smithsburg's Dylan Herbst dominated the distance events, winning both the 800 meters (2:00.11) and 1,600 meters (4:29.23).
In the hurdles, Clear Spring's Daniel Apiou impressed with a 14.83-second win in the 110 hurdles, while North Hagerstown's Jonathan Morris took the 300 hurdles in 43.85 seconds. The relay events showcased team depth, with South Hagerstown winning the 4x100, North Hagerstown taking the 4x200, and Smithsburg claiming the 4x800. Field events saw Boonsboro's Austin Dinsmore dominate the shot put.
