It was a night to remember at Jacket Park, as North Augusta's softball and baseball teams delivered dominant performances in their respective playoff matchups.
On the softball diamond, the Lady Jackets entered the game with a 4-0 lead over Hartsville—and they never looked back. Carley Penvose crushed a two-run home run to left field, extending the lead to 6-0. Meanwhile, Harvard commit Eleanor Brummond was in top form on the mound, tossing six shutout innings to secure a commanding 10-0 victory. The Lady Jackets will return to action on Monday, looking to keep their postseason momentum rolling.
Over on the baseball side, it was an all-CSRA rematch between Aiken and North Augusta. The Jackets held a 2-0 lead heading into the bottom of the fifth inning when Evan Bates sparked a rally with a base hit up the middle, bringing Dylan Morrison home to make it 3-0. With the bases loaded, Collin Neal delivered a clutch two-run RBI single into left field, capping a six-run fifth inning that put the game out of reach. North Augusta eliminated the Hornets with an 8-0 shutout and will now face Gray Collegiate in the next round.
From standout pitching to timely hitting, North Augusta proved why they're a force to be reckoned with this postseason. Whether you're gearing up for your own playoff run or just cheering from the stands, these Jackets are showing what it takes to dominate when it matters most.
