MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – NM State closed its weekend series at Middle Tennessee with a tightly contested battle Sunday morning at Blue Raider Softball Field. With runs at a premium, the Aggies capitalized on one key swing while leaning on steady pitching throughout. NM State secured a 1–0 shutout to take the series finale.
After scoreless innings on both sides, NM State broke through in the fourth when Devin Elam launched a solo home run to left‑center for the game’s lone run. From there, Faith Aragon controlled the circle, limiting Middle Tennessee to just two hits and working out of traffic when needed. The Aggies held on defensively to seal the shutout victory.
Faith Aragon earned the win with a complete‑game shutout, striking out 11 while allowing just two hits.
Devin Elam accounted for the game’s only run with a solo home run in the fourth inning.
Skye Johnson added one of NM State’s three hits in the contest.
