Nicolo Bulega eyes MotoGP move and reveals 2027 optionsDucati’s World Superbikes standout Nicolo Bulega has made it clear that he’s determined to make the jump to MotoGP, and says he already has a few paths open to him for the 2027 season. Bulega stepped in for the injured Marc Marquez during the last two rounds of the 2025 season.

Nicolo Bulega is setting his sights firmly on the MotoGP grid, and the Ducati World Superbike star isn't just dreaming—he's actively planning his route. With options already materializing for the 2027 season, the Italian rider is positioning himself for a highly anticipated leap to the premier class.

Bulega's determination was amplified by a crucial taste of MotoGP action in 2025, where he stepped in for the injured Marc Marquez in the final two rounds. That experience has only fueled his ambition to transition full-time from dominating the production-based series to battling on prototype machinery.

While a natural progression would seem to be a seat within Ducati's satellite structure, the landscape is shifting. The Gresini Racing team has already indicated it is not looking for a rookie in 2026, potentially closing one immediate door. This has led to intriguing speculation, with Bulega and his management not ruling out a move outside the Ducati family to achieve his goal.

Speaking at the Dutch World Superbike round, Bulega opened up about the high-stakes chess game of MotoGP contracts. "Right now, on the MotoGP front, we have to wait for the bigger names to settle in because everything depends on them," he stated, acknowledging the domino effect of rider market moves. "The dream of MotoGP has been with me since I was little... Together with my team, we’re working hard to try to make it happen."

For an athlete used to the pressure of racing, uncertainty is the real challenge. "I experience stress when I don’t have options," Bulega admitted. His confidence, however, remains unshaken. He knows that even if the 2027 MotoGP move requires patience, his status as a "top rider" ensures a competitive future in World Superbikes.

One particularly interesting possibility emerging from the paddock whispers is Aprilia's satellite squad, Trackhouse Racing. Suggested by MotoGP journalist Giovanni Zamagni as a viable alternative, this could represent a fresh and competitive path for Bulega, proving that his options extend beyond his current manufacturer. As the rider market begins to simmer, all eyes will be on where this determined champion lands.
