DALEVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – It was a big day over in Daleville at Lord Botetourt High School, where Nick Leftwich was officially introduced as the new head football coach of the Lord Botetourt High School football team.
Leftwich spent the last 3 seasons as the head coach at William Fleming High School. Before his stint with the Colonels, Leftwich was the head football coach at Cave Spring High School. Coach Leftwich says he’s looking forward to the opportunity of leading the Lord Botetourt football program.
“I’m excited for the opportunity. I’m starting up by saying that, and you know it. It’s a place with a good football tradition. The community is very supportive, and students and things like that, so again, this is a new chapter for me. This is a long, thought-out decision, one that I felt was best for myself and my family moving forward. So you know again, I’m excited and ready to get going.”
Coach Leftwich has had plenty of success on the field. In his 3 seasons with the Colonels, he led them to a pair of Blue Ridge District titles and 3 deep playoff runs. Leftwich was also able to lead the Cave Spring Knights to the playoffs in his second season with the team.
