The Tennessee Titans are currently evaluating the 2026 NFL Draft class ahead of the big event later this month. General manager Mike Borgonzi is known for wanting to build through the draft, but that hasn't stopped new head coach Robert Saleh from pushing for specific moves in free agency.
The result has seen some nice talent arrive in Nashville, but the Titans still haven't answered all of their questions. Despite wanting to build through the draft, the Titans' wide receivers' room is relatively young. Calvin Ridley is the oldest at 31, and everyone else is 28 (TE Kyle Granson) or younger. It certainly wouldn't hurt to have another veteran pass-catcher for Cam Ward to throw to, and FOX Sports reporter Ralph Vacchiano suggests that Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts might be the way to go.
Acquire: TE Kyle Pitts from the Atlanta FalconsCost: 2026 second-round pick (35th), 2026 fourth-round pick (101st)
The Titans are all about the development of QB Cam Ward, but they’re still a bit thin on players for him to throw to. Calvin Ridley is 31 and coming off a broken leg. Tennessee's No. 1 receiver will probably be Wan’Dale Robinson, who is 5-foot-8. And TE Chig Okonkwo left in free agency. The Falcons placed the franchise tag on Pitts but haven’t ruled out trading him if they can’t sign him to a long-term deal. Pitts finally broke out last season, catching 88 passes for 928 yards while earning second-team All-Pro honors. He’s 6-foot-6, 250 pounds and still only 25 years old. A second- or third-round pick is reasonable, especially since the Titans can absorb a big deal for him much better than the Falcons can.
This draft class is light on surefire superstars, but the Titans don't necessarily need to add more youth at wide receiver. Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts was granted an extension from his rookie contract and is set to become a free agent in 2027. Last season, he caught 88 passes from Michael Penix Jr. for 928 yards and five touchdowns.
With the departure of Chig Okonkwo, the Titans signed Daniel Bellinger while retaining Gunnar Helm and David Martin-Robinson at tight end. Pitts would add another set of hands for Cam Ward to target, plus his 6-foot-6, 250-pound frame can also act as a blocker for added protection.
It's probably unlikely that the Titans go after Pitts, especially after signing Bellinger and seeing flashes from Helm in 2025. However, it wouldn't be a bad idea to bring in someone like Pitts, who brings experience and skill to the locker room. It's just hard to imagine Mike Borgonzi giving up the Titans' only second and fourth-round picks, but that doesn't mean it won't happen.
