Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum had a triumphant return to the NBA playoffs Sunday, recording 25 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists to help lead the team to a historic 123-91 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
Tatum's effort came in just his 17th game of the season since returning from a ruptured Achilles tendon that he suffered during the 2025 postseason 11 months ago.
Now, Indianapolis Colts starting quarterback Daniel Jones is using Tatum's recovery as a guide in his own process of coming back from an Achilles injury.
Colts head coach Shane Steichen said on Tuesday that he's talked with Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens about JT's comeback.
"#Colts HC Shane Steichen spoke to #Celtics president Brad Stevens about Jayson Tatum’s Achilles recovery. Tatum and Daniel Jones both got surgery from Dr. Martin O’Malley," Colts insider James Boyd of The Athletic posted on X. "'(Tatum) was in that building all day every day and Daniel’s the same way.'"

Jones suffered a torn Achilles in December during Indianapolis' Week 14 contest vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars.
"I think he's four and a half months post-op. His rehab process has been phenomenal," Steichen said of Jones. "He went to the same doctor that Tatum went to, Tatum is rolling right now for the Celtics. I had the chance to talk to Brad Stevens, and his rehab process that Tatum went through, he was in that building all day, every day."
