The Arizona Cardinals fell in ESPN's new power rankings, but they are better than some teams.

The Arizona Cardinals may not be at the very bottom of the NFL, but they're certainly getting a close look from down there. In ESPN's latest power rankings, the Cardinals dropped one spot from 28th to 29th—a move that, while disappointing, comes as little surprise to fans following the team's offseason moves.

After a three-win season, the Cardinals entered the draft with the longest odds to win the Super Bowl and the shortest odds for the No. 1 pick in 2027. Their projected win total is the lowest in the league, and the power rankings reflect that harsh reality.

But here's the silver lining: they're not dead last. Arizona sits ahead of the Cleveland Browns, New York Jets, and Miami Dolphins. Some of that optimism might stem from the excitement around No. 3 overall pick Jeremiyah Love, widely considered the most talented player in the draft. The running back room has gotten a real boost with Love and free-agent signing Tyler Allgeier.

Still, the roster remains thin. After free agency and the draft, running back might be the only position that's clearly improved—and that's not exactly a vote of confidence for a team coming off a three-win season. The Cardinals have a long road ahead, but at least they can't get much worse from here.
