Albert Breer names Falcons, Rams as potential landing spots for Stefon Diggs

The Atlanta Falcons have largely finalized their roster for the 2026 season, but there's still time for one more game-changing move. The most impactful addition they could make before Week 1? A proven veteran wide receiver to fill the crucial Z role opposite Drake London's X position.

Enter Stefon Diggs. The four-time Pro Bowl wideout remains one of the biggest names on the free agent market, and Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer has named the Falcons as a potential landing spot in his latest mailbag column. Alongside Atlanta, Breer also lists the Commanders, Chiefs, and Rams as possible destinations.

"I think Diggs will probably be somewhere in that one-year, $10 million range," Breer wrote. "The Chiefs could make sense. The Commanders might, too, since Diggs is from D.C. The Falcons and Rams would also be interesting landing spots."

Diggs has earned a reputation as a classic "diva" wide receiver over his career, but his talent remains undeniable. Despite off-field drama at every stop, he keeps delivering on the field. Last season with the Patriots, Diggs hauled in 85 catches for over 1,000 yards and four touchdowns. If you exclude his injury-shortened 2024 campaign, he's posted at least 1,000 receiving yards in seven consecutive seasons.

That kind of consistency is rare. Only Mike Evans can claim better regular-season production over the past decade. For Atlanta, adding a player of Diggs' caliber would complete a receiving corps that still looks like the biggest offensive hole—even after drafting Zachariah Branch.

If Diggs can truly be signed for one year at around $10 million, the Falcons should waste no time pulling the trigger. It's the kind of move that could transform their offense and make them a serious contender in the NFC.
