The NFL has named Brian Flinn the Senior Vice President, Global Flag Football, a newly created senior role.

The NFL is making a major strategic move to champion flag football on the world stage, announcing the hiring of Brian Flinn as its first-ever Senior Vice President of Global Flag Football. This newly created senior role signals the league's serious commitment to growing the non-contact version of the game internationally.

Flinn will be tasked with a huge mission: leading the NFL's global strategy for flag football. His responsibilities will include driving international expansion, strengthening key partnerships, and overseeing the sport's development at every level, from youth participation all the way to professional competition. Based in New York, he steps into the role at a perfect time for the sport's momentum.

"Flag football is experiencing extraordinary growth across the globe," said NFL Executive Vice President of Football Operations, Troy Vincent Sr. "This is a pivotal moment for the game. Brian’s vision and proven ability to build sports properties position him to accelerate our momentum and elevate flag football on the global stage."

Flinn brings over three decades of leadership experience from the worlds of sports, entertainment, and media. His resume includes deep expertise in operations, strategic planning, and brand building. He most recently served as Chief Operating Officer of the Pro Padel League and has held high-level roles at WWE, the NBA, the New York Knicks, and Isos Capital Management.

For Flinn, the opportunity aligns with a sport on the rise. "It is an honor to join the NFL at such a transformative time for flag football," Flinn stated. "The sport has a unique ability to engage new audiences and inspire the next generation. I look forward to working with partners worldwide to fuel the game’s rapid growth and build a sustainable future."

The NFL's investment comes as flag football's profile is set to skyrocket. The league recently announced a partnership with TMRW Sports to launch a professional flag football league for women and men. Furthermore, the sport is poised for its Olympic debut at the Los Angeles 2028 Games, guaranteeing a massive global audience and cementing its status as a mainstream athletic pursuit.
