The Cleveland Browns could be heading toward another quarterback controversy, and one NFL insider believes they are setting themselves up for chaos. With Shedeur Sanders now in the mix, questions are already forming about his role behind Deshaun Watson.

The Cleveland Browns are once again flirting with controversy, and this time, it involves one of the most talked-about names in college football. With Shedeur Sanders now in the quarterback room, the team is bracing for what some insiders are calling a "training camp circus."

Let's be real—adding a talented young quarterback is usually a smart long-term move. But when that quarterback comes with the spotlight that Shedeur Sanders brings, things can get messy fast. Especially when the starter ahead of him is already under a microscope.

ESPN Cleveland's Jake Trotter didn't hold back when breaking down the situation. "If you believe in Shedeur and you think there is a path to him becoming your franchise quarterback, I understand obviously taking him," Trotter said. "But if you don't feel that way, and you do take him still, and now you create this training camp circus where everybody is focused on the backup quarterback... which was the case in August last year."

That last part is key. The Browns have been here before. Remember last summer? All eyes were on the backup, and it created a distraction that followed the team into the season. Now, with Sanders in the mix, history could repeat itself—only louder.

The real issue isn't Sanders' talent. It's the attention he commands. Rookie quarterbacks with big names and bigger highlights tend to steal the show, especially when the starter isn't delivering. Deshaun Watson is still the guy in Cleveland, but his inconsistent play and injury history have left the door wide open for questions.

Trotter also pointed out the mixed signals coming from the organization. "We're hearing all this about Deshaun Watson's gonna start, right? Whether you agree with it or not, it's coming from somewhere," he said. That uncertainty only fuels the fire.

If Watson stumbles early in camp or during the season, the calls for Sanders will come fast and furious. What was supposed to be a developmental year could turn into a full-blown quarterback controversy before the leaves change color.

For Browns fans, this feels all too familiar. And for a team trying to build momentum, a training camp drama is the last thing they need.
