The Dallas Cowboys have completed their 2026 NFL Draft. Though the UDFA race is about to get hot and heavy, the club has completed their allotment of draft choices, with their seventh-round selection. After going defense with five of their first six picks, they got themselves their first offensive skill position guy, drafting WR Anthony Smith out of ECU.

A Maryland native, he stands over 6-foot-2 and weighs 198 pounds. Smith was a Shrine Bowl participant who will, at a minimum, bring special teams value. He has a chance to latch on as the Cowboys look for competition at the fifth wideout spot behind CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, Ryan Flournoy and Kavontae Turpin. He'll be in competition with names such as Jonathan Mingo and Traeshon Holden.

Smith is a former teammate of last year's third-round selection Shavon Revel. The Cowboys have had success with late-round wideouts from ECU, having taken Dwayne Harris many years ago. Smith started his career at NC State, spending four years there including the COVID season of 2020. He joined East Carolina in 2024.

Smith had 64 receptions in 2025 for over 1,000 and scored seven receiving touchdowns, though he did have six drops. He's already 24 years old, and had a quality showing in the scouting combine.
