The Philadelphia Eagles are getting an up-close look at some local talent today, hosting their 2026 local pro day at the Jefferson Health Training Complex. The event focuses on evaluating top prospects from colleges within a 50-mile radius, and this year's session features a notable trio from Penn State.

Running back Nick Singleton, offensive tackle Drew Shelton, and center Nick Dawkins will all be in attendance, giving the Eagles' brass a chance to assess their fit. For Singleton, the visit carries a special narrative. Following in the footsteps of fellow Nittany Lion Saquon Barkley, who joined the Eagles this offseason, Singleton has already expressed his enthusiasm. "It would be crazy. I would love that," Singleton said at the NFL Scouting Combine. "To stay home, play with Saquon, that would be really cool." While the Eagles' backfield is currently crowded with Barkley, Tank Bigsby, Will Shipley, and Dameon Pierce, Singleton's collegiate record—a school-record 45 rushing touchdowns—makes him an intriguing prospect.

On the offensive line, Drew Shelton presents an interesting Day 3 option for a team seeking swing tackle depth. The athletic left tackle brings a basketball background that translates to fluid movement as a move blocker, making him a potential fit for outside-zone schemes. However, scouts note his need to build play strength to better sustain blocks and anchor against power rushers at the NFL level.

Rounding out the group is center Nick Dawkins, a five-year Penn State leader and the son of late Philadelphia 76ers legend Darryl Dawkins. Known for his leadership on and off the field, Dawkins was the recipient of the 2024 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team award, highlighting the character and intangibles that often appeal to teams in the later rounds. As the Eagles continue their draft preparations, today's local evaluations could uncover a future contributor who already knows what it means to play in Philadelphia.
