Day one of the NFL Draft was unpredictable for the most part and should provide teams with key additions that were correct on paper and on the field, but days 2 and 3 are where Super Bowl Champions and future Pro Bowlers are made. Who are a few intriguing names expected to come off the board tonight?
Avieon Terrell was considered a day-one talent by many, but too many folks were inconsistent with the projection. Either way, Terrell's brother A.J. is a significant piece of the puzzle with the Atlanta Falcons. Avieon is more physical and has size to help him better in coverage. He is also very good at stopping the long runs before they're broken.
McCoy also has great size and instincts, as well as coverage ability against taller wide receivers. A very consistent tackler who has a nose for swarming the football.
The first round saw two Clemson Tigers get drafted, and early on, experts thought that Peter Woods and T.J. Parker would be first-round picks. Woods ended up going first, but Parker is a highly productive pass rusher who can also stop the run.
Boston was another name that was supposed to be chosen in the first round, but fell for whatever reason. Boston provides size at 6-foot-4 and can high-point the ball over smaller defenders with ease. Any team will be a great fit for a receiver like Boston.
Chris Bell is a sneakingly and deceptively good wide receiver. He has great strength and toughness and will be a very productive wide receiver in the NFL as early as training camp, given the right opportunity.
Brazzell II is a huge wide receiver at almost 6-foot-5, but could be a round three pick instead of round two. He is also great as a blocker.
Nussmeier is an old-school pocket passer who has battled injuries, and any team taking a gamble in the second or third round would be doing so. He is very accurate and hangs tough in the pocket. He could be a great QB to sit for a year or two before taking the reins.
Dani Dennis-Sutton, EDGE, Penn State (6-5, 270 pounds)
Sutton is naturally tough, with an old-school mentality and great size. He may be a bit of a project for a bit, but he can develop into a force when rushing opposing QBs.
