Jason OwensStaff writerFri, April 24, 2026 at 12:45 AM UTC·1 min readThe Kansas City Chiefs traded up with the Cleveland Browns for the No. 6 pick in the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday and selected LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane.
In return for the No. 6 pick, the Chiefs are sending the No. 9 pick, the No. 74 pick and the No. 148 pick to the Browns in return.
The Chiefs selected Delane after trading All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams in the offseason.
Delane played three seasons at Virginia Tech, then transferred to LSU as a senior. He was a unanimous first-team All-American with the Tigers as he tallied 11 passes defended, 2 interceptions and 45 total tackles. Now he’ll be expected to step in as a Day 1 starter for a Chiefs team seeking to return to Super Bowl contentino after missing the playoffs in 2025.
