As the Giants prepare for the 2026 NFL Draft — which runs from Thursday through Saturday — we are examining the prospects they might pick in Round 1.
John Harbaugh’s team currently owns the fifth and 10th overall selections, with the latter arriving Saturday night via the blockbuster Dexter Lawrence trade with the Bengals.
So who could the Giants take with those two massively important picks?
We’ve already covered Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles, Ohio State edge rusher/linebacker Arvell Reese, Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love, Miami offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa and Ohio State safety Caleb Downs.
Next up — Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson, a distinct possibility at No. 10.
• Rankings (via Pro Football Focus): No. 19 overall, No. 3 at position
• Testing: Because of a hamstring injury, Tyson didn’t participate in testing at the NFL Scouting Combine. That injury also knocked him out of Arizona State’s pro day. So he held a private workout Friday, and NFL general managers (including the Giants’ Joe Schoen) attended it. During that trip, Schoen also had dinner with Tyson.
• Notable stats: Tyson had 711 yards and eight touchdowns last season, when he missed three regular season games. A year earlier, he had 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns in 12 games. He missed the final two that year. In 2023, he was hurt almost the entire year and didn’t record a catch.
• Why Giants might draft him: They have an extra top 10 pick and desperately need someone other than Darius Slayton to man the outside receiver spot opposite Malik Nabers. Even if they sign Odell Beckham, he’s not going to be that guy.
• Why Giants might not draft him: What if Downs is still available at No. 10, after Harbaugh goes with Love or Styles at No. 5? Or maybe Mauigoa could be Harbaugh’s preferred option with the 10th pick, as he tries to solidify blocking for Jaxson Dart. Bottom line: The Giants have plenty of roster holes to address. Tyson also brings lots of durability concerns.

• Scouting report (via NFL.com): “Learning from Super Bowl XL MVP Hines Ward helped unlock Tyson’s production and elevated his draft stock. He’s added size and improved his route running over the last two years, showing he can align at all three receiver spots. He occasionally rushes the route but has the short-area quickness and contested-catch toughness to find chain-moving grabs in high-leverage moments. He’s not a blazer but has enough speed to work down the field.
“Also, he has the ball skills and body control to win above the rim with timing on 50/50 throws. Scouts say he puts in the time to absorb knowledge and hone his craft. A history of injuries might explain inconsistent competitiveness as a run blocker in 2025. The wiring, versatility and finishing talent point to a WR1 ceiling.”
