Could the Steelers add the former Raven to their roster?

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been one of the most aggressive teams in NFL free agency this offseason, making headlines with splashy additions like cornerback Jamel Dean, safety Jaquan Brisker, and wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. But according to one NFL analyst, the Steelers aren't done yet—and their next move should come from a familiar rival.

Speaking on CBS Sports, analyst Ryan Wilson identified former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Kyle Van Noy as the perfect free-agent target for Pittsburgh. "I think Kyle Van Noy adds versatility," Wilson explained. "He can play off the edge, even though he's 35. He can play off-ball linebacker. He can be the green dot guy and call the defense. And he brings that locker room leadership that may be lacking now that Mike Tomlin has sailed off into the sunset."

Van Noy enjoyed a career resurgence during his three-year stint with the Ravens from 2023 to 2025, racking up 23.5 sacks and earning his first Pro Bowl nod in 2024 with a career-high 12.5 sacks. A two-time Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots, Van Noy brings championship experience and a proven ability to thrive in pressure situations—qualities that would fit seamlessly into Pittsburgh's hard-nosed defensive culture.

However, the fit isn't without its question marks. The Steelers already boast a deep room of linebackers and edge rushers, and several of their current starters are north of 30 years old. Adding a 35-year-old Van Noy would be an unexpected move, especially given the team's focus on youth and athleticism in recent drafts.

Still, the idea of a former Raven donning the black and gold is sure to stir up emotions among Steelers fans. Whether it's a savvy veteran addition or a bridge too far, the debate is just getting started.
