The Yankees and Rangers meet for the second time in a week and a half.

The New York Yankees are staying put in the Bronx for a few more games before hitting the road again, and this next series promises plenty of fireworks. After a dominant four-game sweep of the Baltimore Orioles—where the Bombers scored at least seven runs in every contest—they now welcome the Texas Rangers for a rematch. This marks the second time in just over a week that these two teams face off, but this time, the Yankees have the home crowd behind them. And with the pitching matchups lined up, fans at Yankee Stadium are in for a real treat.

All eyes will be on 22-year-old right-hander Rodríguez, who makes his first home start after a memorable Major League debut in Arlington. In that last series against Texas, he tossed four innings, struck out three, and allowed two runs. While his workload was light, there’s no question he’ll be fired up to deliver a show for the home faithful. But standing in his way is a familiar and fearsome opponent: Jacob deGrom. The former Mets ace has been terrorizing hitters all season, and he was sharp the last time he faced the Yankees, pitching six innings with five strikeouts, no walks, and just three hits. At 38 years old, deGrom is still bringing serious heat—boasting a 2-1 record, a 2.01 ERA, and 40 strikeouts over 31.1 innings across six starts. He’s the kind of pitcher who can shut down any lineup, and Rodríguez will need to bring his best to match him.

On the other side, the Yankees have their own ace in the making at the back of the rotation. Will Warren has been nothing short of stellar, and his last outing against the Orioles was a gem: 6.1 innings, three hits, one earned run, one walk, and nine strikeouts in a 7-2 victory. He remains a perfect 4-0 with a sparkling 2.39 ERA and 46 strikeouts on the season. As the Bombers look to keep their momentum rolling, Warren’s consistency gives them a solid anchor—and a reason for fans to feel confident heading into this showdown.
