When the New York Giants made the bold move to hire John Harbaugh as their head coach this past January, they knew they were getting a proven winner. The former Baltimore Ravens boss, who led his team to a Super Bowl championship, brings an impressive résumé to East Rutherford.
Over 18 seasons with the Ravens, Harbaugh posted a stellar 180-113 regular-season record and went 13-11 in the playoffs. But here's the real story for Giants fans: when you look at the 14 opponents New York will face in the 2026 season, Harbaugh has a winning record against 11 of them.
That includes clean sweeps against the Giants' NFC East rivals. Harbaugh has dominated the Dallas Cowboys (4-1), outlasted the Philadelphia Eagles (3-2), and handled the Washington Commanders (3-2). In fact, he's 52-25 overall against NFC teams, making him a formidable force in conference play.
There are a few exceptions, though. Harbaugh is 4-4 against the Indianapolis Colts in the regular season (with a 1-1 playoff split) and 2-2 against the Seattle Seahawks. His only losing record comes against the Tennessee Titans (3-4), though he's gotten the better of them in two of three postseason meetings.
With 193 total victories—good for 14th all-time among NFL coaches—Harbaugh brings a winning pedigree that Giants fans haven't seen in years. His ability to navigate tough schedules (he's 128-88 against the AFC and 63-45 in division play) could be exactly what this franchise needs to get back on track.
