The New York Giants are making moves—and the NFL is starting to take notice. After a busy offseason that saw major upgrades through both free agency and the 2026 NFL Draft, the Giants have climbed two spots in ESPN's latest "way-too-early" power rankings, landing at No. 23.

That might not sound like a leap to the top, but for a team that sat at No. 25 just months ago, it's a clear sign that the league's analysts are paying attention. The jump comes largely thanks to one of the most impressive rookie classes in the league—a group that turned heads after the draft in Pittsburgh.

Leading the charge are two top-10 picks: Ohio State linebacker Arvell Reese and Miami offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa. Reese is expected to slot in at weakside linebacker, bringing speed and physicality to a unit that struggled early last season. Mauigoa, meanwhile, gives the offensive line a much-needed anchor on the edge, which should help open up the run game and keep the quarterback upright.

But the Giants didn't stop there. They added depth at cornerback and wide receiver in the second and third rounds, giving the roster a fresh infusion of talent at key positions. And in free agency, the front office was just as aggressive—spending $13 million to bring in veteran linebacker Tremaine Edmunds and cornerback Greg Newsome II. Both are expected to make an immediate impact on a defense that's hungry for consistency.

For context, last season the Giants' linebacker corps leaned heavily on Bobby Okereke and Micah McFadden. While both are capable, the addition of Edmunds and Reese gives the unit a new level of athleticism and depth. If the pieces come together, this defense could surprise a lot of people in 2026.

Whether you're gearing up for game day or just following the rebuild, one thing is clear: the Giants are rising—and they're doing it with purpose.
