Thursday night was a big one for the New York Giants. They held two of the top 10 selections in Round 1 of the 2026 NFL draft and scored big with Ohio State linebacker Arvell Reese at No. 5 and Miami offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa at No. 10.
The Giants' war room had a different look to it this year. New faces replaced old faces as the John Harbaugh era began for real.
Co-owner John Mara was not seen in the room. It's unknown whether he was present or not, as he is undergoing cancer treatments. His brother, Chris, was apparently carrying the flag for the Mara family, standing alongside general manager Joe Schoen.
One face few thought they would see Thursday night was that of chairman Steve Tisch, who recently filed paperwork along with his siblings to relinquish their stake in the team to a trust in the name of their children.
Steve Tisch positioned next to John Harbaugh in the Giants' draft room. Chris Mara next to Joe Schoen.
That came on the heels of the news that Tisch had a relationship with the late disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. The prevailing thought was that Tisch would no longer be involved with the team or be seen in public at events such as the one on Thursday night.
But since NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said at the annual league meeting in March that the league saw nothing in Tisch's behavior that warranted any disciplinary action, there he was, front and center, trying to buddy up to Harbaugh.

For an organization perpetually worried about optics, they apparently didn't think this one through.
