The New England Patriots are expected to trade for A.J. Brown in the coming weeks, and a new report further confirms that belief.

The New England Patriots are on the verge of landing star wide receiver A.J. Brown, and the latest report all but confirms the blockbuster trade is coming. For months, rumors have swirled about Brown reuniting with head coach Mike Vrabel in Foxborough, and now a new development is making the move feel inevitable.

After the Patriots signed Romeo Doubs earlier this offseason, some thought the team might be done pursuing Brown. But the buzz never died down. In fact, earlier this month, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that a trade for Brown after June 1 was "likely." Then the Patriots skipped drafting a wide receiver entirely, while the Philadelphia Eagles—Brown's current team—made moves that suggested they were preparing for life without him, including trading for Dontavion Wicks and trading up to grab a receiver in the first round.

The clearest sign yet, however, comes from a report by Jim Murray. According to a source, Brown is actively looking at condos in Boston's Seaport District, which is just a short drive from Gillette Stadium. "Per Source: AJ Brown will be speaking with management at one of the big, fancy condo developments in the Seaport this week regarding residency," Murray wrote, adding that he was asked not to name the specific building.

It doesn't take a detective to connect the dots. For Patriots fans, this is the kind of offseason move that can transform an offense overnight. Brown, a two-time Pro Bowler with over 1,400 receiving yards in each of the last two seasons, would instantly become the No. 1 target for whichever quarterback takes the reins in New England. Pairing him with Vrabel—his former head coach in Tennessee—adds a layer of familiarity that could make the transition seamless.

While nothing is official yet, the smoke is becoming a full-blown fire. If you're a Patriots fan, it might be time to start planning for a new jersey in your wardrobe. And if you're an Eagles fan, well, it's been a good run.
