The countdown is on for one of Indiana's top high school football prospects. Mason Oglesby, the standout tight end from New Palestine, has narrowed his college choices to four and set a date for his big decision.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound four-star recruit will choose between Indiana, Kansas, North Carolina, and Ohio State, with his commitment announcement scheduled for May 23. Oglesby, who has been turning heads with his impressive combination of size and athleticism, is coming off a breakout junior season that saw him help lead the Dragons to a Class 5A state championship.

On the field, Oglesby was a force to be reckoned with. He hauled in 34 receptions for 513 yards and six touchdowns, proving to be a reliable target in the passing game. But his versatility doesn't stop there—he also made his presence felt on defense, recording 33 tackles, including seven for loss, as an outside linebacker. That kind of two-way ability is a rare commodity and a big reason why top programs across the country are vying for his services.

This spring, Oglesby has taken official visits to three of his final four schools: North Carolina, Indiana, and Kansas. He had previously included Purdue, USC, and Missouri in his top six, but the addition of Ohio State in late February—following an offer from the Buckeyes—shook up the race. An unofficial visit to Columbus in April only strengthened the connection.

For Indiana, landing Oglesby would be a major win. The Hoosiers currently have four high school commitments in the 2027 class, with Michigan City offensive tackle Jeremiah Jones as the only in-state pledge so far. Indiana is also in the mix for other top in-state talents, including five-star Lawrence North wide receiver Monshun Sales, making Oglesby a key piece in their recruiting puzzle.

Kansas has been particularly aggressive in its pursuit, bringing its entire coaching staff to see Oglesby on Tuesday. The Jayhawks also extended an offer to sophomore defensive lineman Sam Hirschy during the visit, signaling their commitment to building a strong pipeline in the Hoosier State.

As May 23 approaches, all eyes will be on Oglesby. Whether he stays in-state with the Hoosiers, heads to the Big Ten with Ohio State, or takes his talents to the ACC or Big 12, one thing is certain: this is a player who has the tools to make an immediate impact at the next level. Stay tuned for what promises to be a thrilling announcement.
