When you're preparing for the NFL Draft, you dream of landing with the right team. For Boise State offensive lineman Kage Casey, that dream had a very specific address: the Denver Broncos.

That wish came true when the Broncos selected Casey in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Now, he's not just joining any offensive line—he's stepping into a unit anchored by the very player he's been studying for years: All-Pro left tackle Garett Bolles.

"The pre-draft process with the Broncos was awesome," Casey said during a conference call after being drafted. "I met them first at the Senior Bowl, had a quick visit, and then at the Combine we had a formal meeting. It all went very, very well."

But what makes this story even more compelling is the admiration Casey already holds for his future teammate. "Garett Bolles is a guy I try to model my own game after," Casey explained. "I'm excited to actually meet him in person and be part of the offensive line with him. It's going to be an awesome environment."

Casey brings serious credentials to Denver. He started 41 consecutive games at left tackle for Boise State from 2023 to 2025, showcasing the kind of durability and consistency that NFL coaches love. Now, he'll have the chance to learn directly from Bolles, who has been the Broncos' anchor at left tackle since 2017 and earned both Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors.

What specifically does Casey admire about Bolles' game? "Mainly just pass protection and how consistent he is," Casey noted. "His consistency in pass pro is something I've always tried to implement into my own game, and that's what we'll be working on further."

Versatility will be key for Casey early in his NFL career. The Broncos may initially use him as a backup swing tackle or guard, giving him valuable experience across the line. But the long-term picture is clear: with Bolles turning 34 this month, Casey could be the future at left tackle in Denver.

For now, though, it's about learning from a master. Bolles now has the unique opportunity to coach up a young tackle who has already been studying his every move. That's the kind of mentorship that builds championship offensive lines—and the kind of story that makes you want to grab a Broncos jersey and watch the chemistry unfold.
