Wildcreek's renovated par-3 golf course opens Thursday, with its championship course on track for mid-to-late summer.

Great news for golfers in the Reno area! The highly anticipated renovation of Wildcreek Golf Course is hitting its first major milestone. The revamped par-3 course officially opens its greens this Thursday, offering a fresh and improved short-game experience.

This opening marks the completion of the first phase in a comprehensive $16 million overhaul by First Tee Nevada. Over the past year, the par-3 layout has been thoughtfully redesigned, featuring new concrete cart paths and strategic adjustments to several holes to enhance playability and challenge.

The excitement doesn't stop there. The project is already driving toward the next tee box: a brand-new 9-hole Championship Course is on track for a mid-to-late summer debut. This phase will also introduce a state-of-the-art, triple-decker driving range constructed from innovative storage containers, providing a unique and expansive practice facility.

Beyond the fairways, the renovation promises a revitalized hub for the community. Plans include a safe, innovative learning center for First Tee youth programs and updates to the existing restaurant, bar, and restrooms. This transformation, partially funded by a county land sale, is set to reestablish Wildcreek as a premier destination for golfers of all skill levels to practice, play, and enjoy the game.
