The North Carolina Tar Heels are putting together their roster under Michael Malone, working the transfer portal to the best of their ability. The program has already earned commitments from a few recruits, mainly in their backcourt.

Per Pete Nakos, former Virginia Tech guard Neoklis Avdala has officially signed with the Tar Heels just a few weeks after entering the transfer portal and committing to the program. It was the first commitment under Malone and this new regime.

With a need in the backcourt, the Tar Heels went out and pursued a few big guards. In addition to Avdalas, they have also landed a commitment from Matt Able and Terrence Brown Jr.

Avdalas averaged 12.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game while shooting 38.6 percent from the field this season.
