Nelly Korda is a major champion once again, having just claimed The Chevron Championship title at Memorial Park.

Korda is now a three-time major winner, with the American star having also won the Women’s PGA Championship throughout her fantastic career.

She’s already on two wins for the 2026 season, having made only five starts, and has just returned to world number one following her latest efforts.

But Korda has no time at all to celebrate her win at The Chevron Championship, with the 27-year-old now set to continue her busy LPGA Tour campaign in Mexico.

Korda has already touched down for the Riviera Maya Open, which takes place this week at El Camaleon Golf Course at Mayakoba.

Intriguingly, Korda has adopted the exact opposite approach from PGA Tour star Rory McIlroy, who won the first men’s major championship of 2026.

In fact, the Northern Irishman has not made an appearance since winning The Masters at Augusta National earlier this month.

He has been spending time away from competitive golf, but Korda has decided to try and continue her stunning momentum.

The LPGA icon has made five of five cuts this season, and has remarkably finished in the top two in all five tournaments.

Korda fought very hard to win The Chevron Championship, with such physical and mental efforts making her quick trip to Mexico all the more impressive.

And she deserves huge praise for making the journey, having had the very easy and understandable decision to avoid the tournament altogether after a very demanding week in Houston.

But her appearance is huge for the tournament and for the LPGA Tour, with fans certain to be queuing up to see the American superstar in action this week.

And another title certainly cannot be ruled out, with Korda definitely full of confidence after her five-shot win in Texas.

She carded rounds of 65, 65, 70 and 70 to finish on 18-under, comfortably ahead of both Patty Tavatanakit and Yin Ruoning in a tie for second.

The runners-up each earned $732,384 of the $9million purse, with champion Korda netting a huge $1.35million.
