Nelly Korda is on an absolute tear right now, and the LPGA Tour's Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba is the next stop on her incredible journey. The American superstar arrives in Playa del Carmen fresh off a dominant five-shot victory at The Chevron Championship, her third career major title and second win of the 2026 season.

That triumph at Houston's Memorial Park marked the 17th win of her phenomenal LPGA Tour career and propelled her back to world number one. But when asked about her next goal ahead of this week's event, Korda's response was as focused as her game.

"Whatever I set my heart to," she said with characteristic confidence. "I mean, I just love competing and I love being out here competing. I'm always striving to be better and to contend in every major, every tournament. Just because what I've accomplished, what's funny with sports is that's in the past. What you want to do is look to the future and look to improve and look to contend in the bigger events. That's kind of what motivates me to continuously put myself in that position."

It's a mindset that's clearly working. Remarkably, only two players have beaten Korda all season. She kicked off the year by winning the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, then finished second to Kim Hyo-joo at both the Fortinet Founders Cup and the Ford Championship. A tie for second at the Aramco Championship followed, where Lauren Coughlin took the title.

While returning to world number one after The Chevron Championship is a huge milestone, Korda isn't resting on her laurels. "I held the title a couple times," she reflected. "Obviously it's an amazing accomplishment. It's something that I wanted to hold when I was a little girl. I think that just measures that you're playing the best golf at the end of the day. Like in tennis, let's say there is an advantage to being the No. 1 player in the world."

For fans watching this historic run, one thing is clear: Korda isn't just winning—she's redefining what's possible. Whether you're hitting the links or just admiring from afar, her relentless pursuit of greatness is the kind of inspiration that belongs in every golfer's wardrobe.
