The first major championship of the LPGA Tour season has arrived, with Nelly Korda among those looking to win The Chevron Championship.

Korda is seeking a third major championship title of her phenomenal career at Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston, Texas.

Currently ranked second in the world, she will play alongside Mao Saigo and Lilia Vu in the opening round of the tournament.

Korda has already won The Chevron Championship in her career, but she has five other reasons from the 2026 season alone that should be making her feel really good ahead of round one.

Thanks to her sublime start to the latest LPGA Tour campaign, Korda currently ranks first in five different categories.

Hugely impressively, the American leads the way for Scoring Average, Strokes Gained Ball Striking, Birdie to Bogey Ratio, Par 5 Scoring, and Bogey Avoidance.

Unsurprisingly, such stunning efforts have helped Korda achieve great success in the 2026 LPGA Tour season.

She boasts one win at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, which Korda followed up with two runner-up finishes and another in a tie for second.

While she remains behind Jeeno Thitikul in the women’s world golf rankings, her efforts place her top of the Data Golf Women’s Rankings.

Korda has been hard at work at Memorial Park, which played host to the Texas Children’s Houston Open on the PGA Tour last month.

Now it welcomes the biggest stars on the LPGA Tour, with Korda undoubtedly among the favorites thanks to her strong performances of late.

But also standing her in good stead is her history at the tournament, which the American star won in 2024.

Coming back from a one-shot deficit after 54 holes at The Club at Carlton Woods, she edged out Maja Stark by two strokes.

That title at The Chevron Championship arrived after Korda won the 2021 Women’s PGA Championship at Atlanta Athletic Club.

Tied for the lead after 54 holes back then, she secured a three-stroke victory over Lizette Salas.

Her form and status will certainly pile on the pressure this week, but Korda clearly has the capacity to deal with such pressure.
