Get ready, Huskers fans—Nebraska volleyball is heading to the bright lights of Las Vegas for a historic showdown! The team has been selected to compete in the first-ever Players Era Volleyball Showcase, a two-day event that will kick off the 2026 regular season in style.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, Aug. 29 and Sunday, Aug. 30, when the Huskers will take the court at the iconic T-Mobile Arena. The action starts with a matchup against UNLV on opening day, followed by a highly anticipated clash with Texas on Sunday. TCU rounds out the four-team field, promising a weekend packed with top-tier volleyball.

This will be Nebraska's first-ever meeting with UNLV, adding an element of fresh competition. Meanwhile, the Huskers hold a storied 33-25 all-time record against Texas, though they haven't faced the Longhorns since falling to them in the 2023 NCAA Championship match. This rematch is sure to reignite one of college volleyball's fiercest rivalries.

Head Coach Dani Busboom Kelly couldn't hide her excitement: "Playing in the first volleyball Players Era event is an exciting opportunity for our program. Nebraska wants to be at the forefront of new events and opportunities for our players and our sport. Having the opportunity to face our long-standing rival, Texas, is the icing on the cake. Not only will Vegas be an amazing location to start our season, playing UNLV and Texas will set a tone from the beginning. We want to thank MGM and the Players Era for believing in volleyball and Nebraska to make this event possible."

Before the Vegas showcase, the Huskers will warm up with an exhibition match, Spikes Under the Lights, at AT&T Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 27.
