The Nebraska softball team made history this weekend, sweeping Penn State in a Saturday doubleheader to claim the outright Big Ten regular-season title. The No. 3 Huskers dominated the Nittany Lions with scores of 5-1 and 10-4, showcasing their championship mettle in front of an energized crowd.

This is Nebraska's first outright Big Ten regular-season championship, adding to their 2014 shared title with Michigan. The victory marks the program's 11th regular-season conference title and 21st overall conference championship. Riding a 17-game win streak—the longest active streak in the nation and tied for the fourth-longest in program history—the Huskers are peaking at the perfect time.

On the day, Nebraska's offense exploded for 17 hits, 13 RBIs, and two home runs. Hannah Coor led the charge, going 3-of-7 with a walk and four RBIs. Jesse Farrell, Lauren Camenzind, and Kacie Hoffmann each contributed three hits, combining for six RBIs. Farrell and Camenzind both launched home runs, while Jordy Frahm and Ava Kuszak added two hits apiece.

In the circle, Frahm was dominant, earning the win in game one with seven strikeouts over seven innings, allowing just four hits and one run. She then recorded her 10th save of the season in game two, becoming just the third Division I pitcher to achieve 15 wins and 10 saves in the same season. Alexis Jensen started game two, striking out seven over five innings while surrendering seven hits and four runs.

The Huskers close out the regular season on Sunday morning with the series finale against Penn State. First pitch is set for 11 a.m. CT on the Big Ten Network. With the outright title secured, all eyes are on what this red-hot team can do in the postseason.
