The Nebraska Cornhuskers are making a bold push on the recruiting trail, and their latest target is a big one—literally. The program has set its sights on Joey Hunter, a towering tight end from the state of Georgia, as they look to bolster their Class of 2027.

Standing at an imposing six-foot-six and weighing in at 255 pounds, Hunter is the kind of versatile playmaker who can change the dynamics of an offense. His recruitment has been heating up, and Nebraska made sure to get in the game, extending an official offer this past Friday.

But the Huskers aren't the only ones in pursuit. Hunter has a packed schedule of visits lined up, starting with Georgia Tech from May 29-31. June will be a whirlwind tour, with stops at NC State (June 5-7), Pitt (June 11-13), West Virginia (June 14-15), and Syracuse (June 19-21). According to a report from Rivals' Tim Verghese, a trip to Lincoln could happen as soon as next weekend, giving Nebraska a prime opportunity to make their first big impression.

For the Cornhuskers, landing a player of Hunter's caliber would be a major win. The team's 2027 recruiting class is already ranked 15th nationally per the Rivals Team Rankings, and adding a tight end with his size and skill set would add another weapon to an offense that's starting to look very promising. The first visit is often the most critical—it's the program's chance to sell its vision, its culture, and its future. For Nebraska, that pitch starts now.
