Get ready, disc golf fans—Pueblo is about to become the epicenter of the amateur disc golf scene this spring! The city has officially secured a coveted spot on the National Amateur Disc Golf Tour, and the "303 Open" is set to take place at the historic City Park Disc Golf Course from May 15-17.
This is a huge win for Pueblo, and it's not just about the competition. With around 150 amateur disc golfers expected to compete, along with their families and supporters, the event is projected to bring a significant economic boost to local businesses, hotels, and restaurants. Participants are expected to stay for at least two nights, making May a busy and exciting time for the community.
What makes this event even more special? The course itself. City Park DGC isn't just any course—it's the oldest 18-hole disc golf course in Colorado, dating all the way back to 1978. Thanks to a recent partnership between Visit Pueblo's Sports Council and Pueblo Parks and Recreation, the course has received a complete upgrade with brand-new baskets and refreshed equipment. "Bringing the 303 Open to Pueblo City Park DGC, in 2026, only seems fitting," said Kyle Maute, the tournament director. "With the help of Pueblo City Parks and Rec, the course has gotten a complete update in time for this year’s event."
This tournament marks a major comeback for disc golf in Pueblo, as Visit Pueblo re-enters the arena with a mission to reestablish the city as a premier destination for the sport in Colorado. It's a testament to the community's dedication to maintaining top-tier recreational spaces and a clear signal that Pueblo is open for business as a vibrant sports destination.
Whether you're a seasoned player or a curious spectator, mark your calendars. Additional details, including schedules and spectator info, will be released in the coming weeks. For now, dust off your favorite discs and start planning your trip to Pueblo—this is one event you won't want to miss!
