Nate Diaz wants no part of creating a fake beef with Mike Perry to build buzz for Netflix's MMA event.

Nate Diaz isn't buying into the hype machine—and he's making sure everyone knows it. As he prepares to face Mike Perry at MVP MMA 1 this Saturday at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, the Stockton bad boy is drawing a hard line against manufactured drama.

The Netflix-broadcast event brings together two of the most recognizable names in combat sports outside the UFC. Diaz, fresh off boxing matches with Jake Paul and Jorge Masvidal, will step into the cage with Perry, who earned the "King of Violence" title in BKFC after his own boxing showdown with Paul. Both fighters carry a natural edge, but Diaz insists there's no need to fabricate animosity.

Perry recently pointed to UFC 328's main event between Khamzat Chimaev and Sean Strickland, where the two middleweights traded ugly threats—including talk of gun violence—only to embrace before the bell. "They talked a lot of sh*t before the fight. They said they sold the fight," Perry noted during the "MVP Face 2 Face" presser. "I get wanting to have fun."

But Diaz wasn't having it. When Perry asked how they could build similar buzz, Diaz shut it down immediately. "Yeah, they were faking the funk," Diaz said. "They were acting crazy and talking all this sh*t to each other, then hugging and showing love the whole fight like some bitches. Fake f*cking puppets. I'm f*cking cool off that sh*t."

Instead of manufactured heat, Diaz is leaning into the real stakes. "I got a fight with this dude—he's the most violent motherf*cker. He knocked out f*cking middleweight Luke Rockhold," Diaz said, referencing Perry's brutal BKFC finish. For Diaz, the fight itself should be enough to sell tickets. No scripts, no acting—just two warriors ready to throw down.
