The NBA's playoff officiating crews are set, and history has been made once again. Among the 36 officials selected for the play-in tournament and first round is Natalie Sago, who now joins Violet Palmer and Ashley Moyer-Gleich as the only women ever chosen to referee the NBA postseason.

For Sago, a veteran of over 400 regular-season games, the news came as a thrilling surprise. She received the call from NBA executive Albert Sanders while at the Salt Lake City airport. "I see his name pop up and I was like: 'Oh boy, here we go. Did we screw something up in the game last night in Utah?'" Sago recalled. "But then that phone call turned out to be a pretty awesome phone call."

This milestone is a significant moment for the league, highlighting the continued progress and expanding opportunities for top-tier officials. Sago's selection underscores that excellence and deep experience are the true benchmarks for earning a spot on the sport's biggest stage.
