Nashville's high school football landscape has a new leader on the sidelines. Former Lipscomb Academy head coach Jamie Graham is set to take on a significant new challenge, having been named the inaugural head football coach for the startup program at Nashville Collegiate Prep.
Graham, who compiled a 7-14 record over two seasons leading the Lipscomb Academy Mustangs, will now be tasked with building a program from the ground up. This move follows his tenure succeeding former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer, where his teams competed in Tennessee's competitive Division II-AAA classification.
Launching a new team in a state known for powerhouse private schools like Baylor, Brentwood Academy, and McCallie is no small feat. It requires a coach with vision and resilience, qualities essential for cultivating a new team culture and identity from day one.
He won't be building alone. The school has also appointed former Antioch athletic director and football coach Devin Arnold to lead the athletic department, forming a seasoned leadership duo to guide NCP's sports offerings.
Football will be one of nine sports at the new school, joining baseball, basketball, cross country, and others, as part of its mission to develop students "academically, socially, and emotionally." For fans following the action, this new program adds another exciting team to track in the Volunteer State's vibrant Friday night lights scene.
