Napoli might be bracing for a major shake-up in their midfield this summer, with reports suggesting that Frank Anguissa could finally be on his way out of the club. While the Partenopei are confident that stars like Scott McTominay, Kevin De Bruyne, and Stanislav Lobotka will remain in place, Anguissa's future looks increasingly uncertain—especially after he came close to leaving in each of the last two transfer windows.

According to Il Mattino, the Cameroonian international has been persuaded to stay by head coach Antonio Conte on both occasions, but that luck may not hold for a third time. Adding to the intrigue, Conte's own future is up in the air, with the Italian national team reportedly circling and the manager's contract running short. That could tip the scales for Anguissa, who has seen his form dip significantly since suffering a major thigh injury that also forced him to miss the Africa Cup of Nations.

If Anguissa does depart, there will be no shortage of suitors. Turkish giants Galatasaray and Besiktas are already making noise, while the Premier League—where he previously impressed at Fulham—could come calling. Saudi Arabian powerhouse Al Hilal, who pursued him before, may also reignite their interest. It's a flight risk that Napoli simply can't ignore.

From a squad-building perspective, the timing might actually work in Napoli's favor. Moving on from the 29-year-old would allow the club to get younger and more dynamic in the middle of the park. They've previously shown interest in Davide Frattesi, who is now more available than ever, and are keeping tabs on rising talent Arthur Atta, who is finishing the season strongly. Another option is Joao Gomes, who could be a bargain after Wolverhampton's relegation. On the pricier end, Benfica's Richard Rios and Galatasaray's Gabriel Sara are also on the radar.

It's worth noting that Anguissa's recent struggles are almost entirely linked to his injury and the grueling road back to full fitness. But with a potential coaching change looming and interest heating up from multiple leagues, the time may finally be right for both parties to move on. Napoli would need to bring in at least one pure midfielder to fill the void, but the big question is whether they'll aim for a high-caliber replacement or a more budget-friendly option. With McTominay slotting deeper and De Bruyne thriving alongside a pacey partner, the system is already taking shape—but it needs the right pieces to truly click.
