As we kick off May, the college football recruiting calendar is heating up. Official visits are set to begin later this month and will carry into June, with teams eagerly loading up their schedules. This promises to be a massive recruiting month, so stay tuned for all the action.
This past week was particularly busy during the evaluation period. Colorado State led the charge with 19 offers, followed closely by Hawaii with 18. In total, 15 different programs handed out at least one offer. On the commitment front, nine new players announced their pledges to five different teams. Both Northern Illinois and North Dakota State snagged three new commits each, continuing their productive springs. The Bison, in particular, are working hard to lock down most—if not all—of their 2027 class before the summer dead period.
While the Huskies and Bison both had strong weeks, North Dakota State takes the spotlight this time around.
Starting today and running through mid-April, we're in a quiet period. This means on-campus contact is allowed, but off-campus interactions are limited to texts, calls, and DMs. According to the NCAA, a quiet period is when "a college coach may not have face-to-face contact with college-bound student-athletes or their parents off the college campus and may not watch student-athletes compete or visit their high school." In simpler terms, you can meet coaches on their campus, but they can't watch you play in person, visit your school, or talk to you anywhere else. However, coaches can still reach out via text, phone, email, or direct message.
And as always, the first Monday of the month brings an updated look at the Mountain West team rankings. Check out the latest standings and see how your favorite programs stack up as we head into the heart of recruiting season.
