Mountain Brook High School didn't waste any time. Less than a month after their head coaching position opened, the Spartans have secured a proven winner to lead their storied boys' basketball program.

The school announced Wednesday that Zach Allison, fresh off leading Jackson Prep (Miss.) to a 2025 state championship, will be the program's next head coach. Allison brings a stellar 94-39 overall record and the momentum of a title run to a community with sky-high expectations.

"I’m thrilled to be joining the Mountain Brook family," Allison said in the announcement. "We are going to continue the historic success on the court... As a competitor, I am excited to embrace expectations and the tradition of winning that the community expects."

He steps into big shoes, taking over for Tyler Davis, who compiled a remarkable 159-41 record and guided the Spartans to two Class 6A state runner-up finishes. The program is already a powerhouse, recently ranked No. 11 in the state, and Allison's championship pedigree suggests he's ready to build on that foundation.

This hire signals Mountain Brook's commitment to maintaining its elite status. For a program known for its competitive spirit, state-of-the-art facilities, and development of top-tier talent, bringing in a coach with a recent championship ring is a major statement of intent for the seasons ahead.
