The Moses Brown girls lacrosse took on undefeated East Greenwich and played flawlessly in a 17-5 win on Thursday, May 14, to remain the state title favorite.

On Thursday, May 14, the Moses Brown girls lacrosse team delivered a masterclass in execution, dismantling previously undefeated East Greenwich with a decisive 17-5 victory. The win solidifies the Quakers' status as the team to beat in the state title race.

Walking into the game, Moses Brown knew they faced a tough challenge against an East Greenwich squad that had dominated opponents all season. But from the opening whistle, it was clear the Quakers had other plans. They controlled every aspect of the game, turning what was supposed to be a battle into a statement win.

"We were really humble coming into it but we also came in with a lot of confidence," said All-Stater Goose Brousseau. "I'm just really proud that the team really worked together. We did it with every person on this team and that was the best part."

East Greenwich had been an offensive powerhouse this season, putting up impressive numbers in both wins and losses. Moses Brown countered with a two-pronged strategy: deny the Avengers possession of the ball, and when they did get it, shut down their options. The result was a defensive clinic that left East Greenwich scrambling.

At the heart of the Quakers' success was Jane Belsito, the state's premier draw specialist. She dominated the circle from the start, winning possession after possession and setting the tone for the offense. In the first 12 minutes alone, Moses Brown netted five goals, stunning East Greenwich and never looking back.

"Jane is so good on the draw," Brousseau added. "We love having Jane on the draw and other people on the circle, it's just awesome to watch everybody."

With this performance, Moses Brown has sent a clear message to the rest of the state: execution isn't just a goal—it's a habit. And for any team hoping to challenge them for the title, the Quakers have shown they are ready to execute flawlessly when it matters most.
