The Mid-Hoosier Conference track and field championships delivered a thrilling day of competition as Waldron played host to the conference's best athletes. When the dust settled, two schools emerged victorious, showcasing the depth of talent across the conference.

On the girls' side, Morristown claimed the team title with an impressive 169 points, outpacing a strong field. North Decatur finished a close second with 148 points, followed by Hauser (90), Waldron (70), South Decatur (61), and Southwestern (Shelby) with 8 points. The Yellow Jackets' balanced attack proved too much for the competition, but several individual performances stole the show.

North Decatur's Miley Scudder blazed to victory in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.84, then joined teammates Sarah Moeller, Layla Fellows, and Keiran Lusk to win the 4x100 relay in 53.33. Norah Amberger delivered a personal-best 2:38.06 to capture the 800-meter title, while Sophie Rohls soared to victory in the high jump with a height of 4-10. Rohls also impressed in the throws, setting personal records in both the shot put (27-04) and discus (104-01) for second-place finishes.

The boys' competition saw Hauser take the team title with 120 points, holding off a charging Morristown squad that finished second with 104 points. Waldron (100), North Decatur (93), Southwestern (81), South Decatur (66), and Edinburgh (4) rounded out the field. Mason Kunz highlighted the day for Hauser with a high jump victory at 6-2.

Several athletes delivered standout performances across multiple events. Harper Gunn of the Chargers ran a strong 4:49.99 to place second in the 1,600 meters and added a sixth-place finish in the 800. Sarah Moeller showed her versatility with a third-place finish in the 100 hurdles (16.93), second in the 300 hurdles (51.21), and third in the 200 meters (30.04). Charlie Parmer and Evan Cherry provided a formidable 1-2 punch in the discus for the boys, finishing second (122-04) and third (117-06), respectively.

Relay teams also made their mark, with the Lady Chargers' 4x800 relay (Ellie Johnson, Mallory DeHaven, Ava Lecher, Norah Amberger) taking third in 12:07.69, while the Chargers' 4x800 relay (Harper Gunn, Michael Gomola, Conner Goolsby, Jackson White) also placed third in 9:14.43. The depth of talent across the conference promises an exciting postseason ahead.
