When Manchester United revamped their attack last summer with the arrivals of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko, it looked like the Red Devils had finally found their cutting edge. And by most measures, those signings have delivered. But as the club eyes a return to Champions League football, the depth chart up front still raises eyebrows. That's where Moise Kean comes into the picture.

According to Corriere dello Sport, United have been monitoring the 26-year-old Italian striker for months. It's a name that might raise a few eyebrows given Kean's previous stint in English football. After bursting onto the scene as a teenage sensation at Juventus, he made the move to Everton in 2019—only to struggle mightily, scoring just four goals in 39 appearances for the Toffees. That chapter, however, is firmly behind him.

Kean has rebuilt his career at Fiorentina, where he's rediscovered the form that once made him one of Europe's most exciting young forwards. With 34 goals in 77 appearances for the Viola, he's become a reliable presence up front. And according to reports, there's even "regret" at Old Trafford about missing out on him last summer, despite landing Sesko.

Kean's current contract runs until 2029, but there's a catch—a release clause worth €62 million (£53.6 million) that becomes active between July 1 and July 15. During that window, Fiorentina would have no say if United come calling. The Athletic has reported that United want to add an experienced centre-forward this summer, and Kean certainly fits that description. He made his senior debut back in 2016, and his previous experience in the Premier League—however rocky—could work in his favor.

Still, that €62 million price tag is a hefty one. With United prioritizing a midfield overhaul this summer, spending the bulk of their budget on a striker might not be the wisest move. For now, the Red Devils are reportedly studying their options, and Kean remains on their radar—but whether they'll pull the trigger is another question entirely.
