Brenda Frese’s second portal addition is a 6-foot guard with College Park ties. Maryland women’s basketball is adding sophomore Chloe Sotell to its 2026-27 roster, the program announced Tuesday.

Sotell spent this past season at Missouri and two seasons ago at Pepperdine. If her last name sounds familiar to Terps’ basketball fans, that’s because her brother Lukas has been a walk-on on the men’s team for three years.
Chloe plays a lot more than her brother does, averaging eight points, five rebounds and 2.2 assists as a sophomore with the Tigers last season. She shot 38% from the field on 29.4 minutes per game.
The incoming junior is Maryland’s second portal addition, alongside Stanford forward Nunu Agara.
