Welcome to the Morning CommuteToday we are talking about Mizzou Basketball!

With the No. 7 overall team ranking this offseason per 247Sports, Mizzou Basketball added a nonconference game to its schedule that differs from the typical Mizzou noncon. The Tigers will face the Marquette Mustangs in a neutral site matchup on Nov. 15.

#Mizzou is reportedly set to play Marquette in a neutral site contest in Chicago, hometown of Dennis Gates (and myself), at the United Center in November. Both universities have huge alumni bases in the Windy City; should be a really fun matchup.@RockMNation https://t.co/WaKOC0OahO

With the Tigers looking to bring on the strongest class Gates has ever had, it’s exciting to see that other teams are interested in competing against Mizzou. The Tigers have a serious opportunity to turn some heads early on.

On another note, Mizzou Athletics announced a new system for student tickets

Commute from Sammy Stava: Mizzou Hoops in the Mix for Multiple SEC Guards

Sure, five-star Jason Crowe Jr. is coming in, but guard depth is always a necessity. Per reports, Mizzou is looking to address the guard position within the SEC.

It’s been proven time and time again, one guard won’t do it. You need depth to make it far in March.

Missouri is lucky at recovering fumbles but not as skilled at creating those opportunities. They are also very skilled at creating opportunities to break up passes but are unlucky in intercepting passes.

It’ll be interesting to see if Batoon can continue this into Year 3.

I got some photos from a rundown during Saturday’s game, but this one of Margo’s beats all of mine out by far. I’m obsessed with the parallel leg positions by Linny Ramsey and Karley Shelton and the shapes they create in the frame.

Great shots at the softball game this weekend. Go check ‘em out!

MUT&F from Sophie Silvers: Mizzou enters Drake Relays hungry for a statement

Mizzou will hit the ground running Wednesday through Saturday, April 22-25th, in Des Moines, Iowa. The Tigers’ distance runners are more than ready for the competition, and the field athletes will look to make their marks as well.

A bunch of notable schools competing at this meet. Would be nice to see Mizzou make a splash here.
