It was a day of standout performances and new benchmarks at the Lincoln County Meet in Libby, where local athletes lit up the track and field events. Leading the charge was Libby junior Hailey Misner, who dominated the sprints with three event wins, including a personal best of 12.91 seconds in the 100 meters—a time that currently ranks sixth in Class A. Not to be outdone, sophomore teammate Capri Farmer made history by breaking two long-standing meet records: she clocked 5:20.82 in the 1,600 meters and 11:26.30 in the 3,200 meters, surpassing marks set by Elizabeth Roodell in 1994 and 1996, respectively.
Despite these individual highlights, it was Eureka's depth that secured the team title. The Lady Lions tallied 81 points, outpacing Libby's 70 and Troy's 22. Eureka senior Kricket Bridges played a key role, setting a new meet record in the pole vault by clearing nine feet—topping the previous standard of 8-9 set by Karli Campbell in 2024. Bridges also showed her versatility with second-place finishes in the 100 and 200 dashes.
Libby's young talent continued to shine. Freshman Ava Jensen won the 800 meters and placed third in the 1,600, while sophomore Evalyn Cliff took first in the 300 hurdles and second in the 100 hurdles. In the field events, sophomore Alyssa Andersen claimed victory in the javelin and was runner-up in the long jump, and sophomore Krisign Huff secured second in the shot put and third in the discus.
Eureka's Gabriele Wells proved dominant in the throws, winning both the shot put and discus. Troy's freshman standout Aspen Orr swept the long and triple jumps and added a second-place finish in the 400 meters, signaling a bright future for the young athlete.
