Tuesday's Rangers minor league action delivered a mix of strong individual performances and tough outings across the system. Here's how the prospects fared in their latest games.
Starting at High-A Hickory, Moises Morales turned in a solid start on the mound. The right-hander allowed three runs over six innings, striking out six while walking just one batter. At the plate, the Crawdads' offense was led by Hector Osorio and Yolfran Castillo, who each went 2-for-4 with a walk. Marcos Torres added a double, while Daniel Flames and Josh Springer chipped in with singles.
Over at Hub City, starter Aidan Curry had a tougher day. He surrendered four runs in four innings, including a home run, but still managed to strike out seven and walk two. The offense, however, came alive in a big way. Maxton Martin led the charge with a 3-for-6 performance that included a double. Malcolm Moore had a huge day, going 2-for-5 with a double and a home run. Rafe Perich also went deep and walked twice, while Paxton Kling doubled. Gleider Figuereo contributed a homer and a walk, and Yeison Morrobel collected two hits and a walk.
In Double-A Frisco, starter Josh Trentadue had a short outing, lasting just 1.2 innings. He was tagged for a grand slam while walking one and striking out one. Reliever Ryan Lobus tossed a scoreless inning with one strikeout.
At Triple-A Round Rock, starter Austin Gomber labored through 5.1 innings, walking four and striking out three while allowing four runs. Alexis Diaz was sharp, retiring both batters he faced. However, Chris Martin, who is on a rehab assignment, struggled. He faced six batters, retiring just two, and gave up four runs on four hits, including two home runs. Marc Church walked one and allowed a run in 1.1 innings of work.
