The Milwaukee Brewers have a new king of the prospect world—and he's barely old enough to vote. Jesús Made, the Brewers' top minor league talent, has officially been named the No. 1 prospect in all of baseball by both Baseball America and MLB Pipeline, a remarkable achievement for a player who just turned 19 years old.
Made's ascent to the top spot came largely by the numbers. When Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop Konnor Griffin, 20, graduated from prospect status after accumulating enough big-league experience, the door opened for Made to claim the throne. But don't let the math fool you—this young Dominican switch-hitter has earned his place through sheer talent and hard work.
While Made has hit a bit of a rough patch at Double-A Biloxi recently, posting a .464 on-base-plus-slugging percentage in May, his overall season numbers tell a more impressive story. In a pitcher-friendly league, he's still carrying a .740 OPS with three home runs and 15 stolen bases. That combination of power and speed is exactly what scouts dream about in a shortstop.
What makes Made's rise even more fascinating is that he wasn't even the Brewers' top international signing in 2024. That honor went to Jorge Quintana, who was later traded to San Diego. The same class also included Luis Peña, currently the organization's undisputed No. 2 prospect at 19, though he's been sidelined since a scary on-field incident in April. For a franchise that has invested heavily in international scouting—including opening a state-of-the-art academy in the Dominican Republic in early 2024—Made's emergence is a massive validation of their approach.
This isn't the first time a Brewers prospect has reached the pinnacle. Jackson Chourio briefly held the No. 1 spot before making his big-league debut at just 20 years old in 2023. Now, with Made following a similar trajectory, Milwaukee's farm system is proving it can develop elite talent from the ground up. Outfielder Luis Lara, 21, is also knocking on the door at Triple-A Nashville, ranked 96th on Pipeline's top 100.
Made got a taste of the big-league life during spring training in 2026, and his well-rounded game has only continued to impress evaluators. After a promotion from Class A Carolina last year, his numbers actually improved at the next level. For Brewers fans, the message is clear: the future is bright, and it's wearing a Milwaukee uniform.
