In a three-week span, the milestone moments, gold-medal performances, national title celebrations and newsworthy accolades piled up for the Prosser basketball family.

Since March 19, when the Berlin Brothersvalley girls basketball team successfully defended its PIAA Class 2A girls basketball state championship in Hershey, parents Tanner and Rachel Prosser, and their children Pace, Coral and Bryn Prosser, have experienced a whirlwind of success that they eagerly share with teammates, coaches, administrators and the Berlin community in Somerset County.

Berlin Brothersvalley head coach Rachel Prosser talks to her players during the PIAA Class 2A championship game against Neshannock, at the Giant Center in Hershey, PA., Thursday, March 19, 2026.

“Everything was just a dream come true,” Rachel Prosser said, describing the family’s reaction to Pace Prosser helping the Gannon University men’s basketball team capture its first NCAA Division II national championship Sunday in Indianapolis.

“Mainly, just seeing how happy Pace is, how much he loves the guys that he plays with, the system that he plays in, the coaching staff,” Rachel Prosser said. “We had a lot of support there live. A lot of people came to watch him. So much support – it’s just a dream come true.”

Rachel Prosser talked about Pace’s experience in the middle of an interview about her being named Pennsylvania Sports Writers all-state Class 2A coach of the year Tuesday. She received the honor for a second straight season and third time since 2019.

Coral Prosser, a junior on the Berlin Brothersvalley girls gold medalist squad with 34 NCAA Division I offers, made it on the all-state first team a second consecutive year – her third all-state selection, including a second-team spot her freshman season.

“She deserves all of the credit for all the success that we’ve had,” Coral Prosser said of her mother. “The time she puts in, especially in the playoffs, with every single player, not just me and my sister. She is willing to put the time in with every player individually. She knows how to coach and she’s just adding on to what she’s been doing.”

Named to the all-state second team Tuesday, sophomore Bryn Prosser has been part of state championships in both of her varsity seasons.

Her team’s season, capped by a championship victory over Neshannock at the Giant Center was special, with Bryn Prosser netting 11 points. Attending Gannon University’s 84-61 win over Lander University in Sunday’s Division II championship game added another layer to the ongoing family celebration, she said.

“It’s like crazy for us to win one, and then for him to win something huge like that,” Bryn Prosser said of Pace. “I think he’s taught us a lot. He’s been a huge role model in showing us how to win and stay composed. I think it’s really helped me and my sister.”

Pace Prosser played in three state championship games on Berlin Brothersvalley teams coached by Tanner Prosser. The Mountaineers finished as PIAA runner-up each time.

The Pennsylvania Sports Writers named Tanner the 1A coach of the year, and Pace was player of the year in 2024.

Pace then went to Gannon, where he helped coach Easton Bazzoli revive a Golden Knights program that won a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference crown in 2025, setting the stage for this season's Division II national title. Pace Prosser led the team with 18.6 points a game. Gannon won just three games in 2022-23.

During the Division II championship game, Pace Prosser totaled 28 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and five steals. The talented guard was named most outstanding player in the tournament.

“It was super-cool,” Coral Prosser said. “It’s pretty unreal that it all happened in the same year. I joked with him, ‘We just had to show you how to win one first and then you were able to take care of it.’

“It was super-special to see our family as a whole just have so much success in a short period of time. He deserves it and his team deserves it.”

Three days after the championship game, Pace Prosser announced he entered the NCAA transfer portal Wednesday.

Then-Gannon University sophomore Pace Prosser drives to the basket during the NCAA Division II men's basketball playoffs. Prosser is a graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School.
